How to embrace God’s Healing Power through Music

Hello fello bloggers,

I am here with you once again, but with a different topic in mind. I’m talking about God’s devine healing through something as simple as a piece of music.  God gave us music, and he has planned for us to use it for good, however it can be used for evil if you aren’t careful. Today I am going to show you how to use music for good.  How do do you do that?  Well, in the next paragraphs, and by uploading a few soothing pieces I find a comfort to me, I can show you how not only to listen to music with your ears as a source of entertainment, but alI will show you how to listen to the music with your heart and soul.  By listening to music with your heart, I’m talking about being able to feel the music.

First of all, let me tell you a little about how I found music as a source of healing.  I have been through an emotionally abusive marriage relationship.  Although I have a wonderful daughter, who is a true gift from God, I had to leave that emotionally trying situation.  I will not explain exactly what happened here, because this isn’t about the negatives in my life.  I tell you this tidbit of information about me, to demonstrait my point.  When I came back to live with my parents, I seriously asked God to help me, because I was at my wits end, and through my constant ly listening to music, and devine experiences, that I cannot explain, God has taught me how to feel the music, and dig deeper into it’s meaning. I have begun to teach myself how to play the piano, with God’s devine help, and the help of some music courses from the Nationally Library for the Blind and Phisically handicapped.  Well, to tell you an interesting story, I was standing at a keyboard that my aunt gave me, before she passed away, and I was playing a simple piece that I had learned from the sample piano pieces on this 61 key keyboard.  Here’s the interesting part, I remember playing the beginning, and I remember playing the end, but I don’t remember playing the middle portion of the piece, because I had gotten so lost in the music, I just let it take me wherever it wanted to.  It was by Sheer devine providence that I was able to stand there and keep playing that piece.  This is an example of how powerful music can be; therefore, if you are feeling down and out, or if there are some aspects of your life, that have become heavy burdens in your life, and you are a music lover like myself, By God’s amazing grace, you too can learn how to let music take you on an undescribable journey all it’s own.

Now, here is what I do if I really want to let a piece of music, whether classical or popular music, communicate it’s meaning to me, I just close my eyes, relax my body, and let the music speak to me.  So, what you want to do, is find a time and place where you will not be disturbed for a few moments, put on a piece of your favorite music, sit or lie back in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and let the music flow through your entire being.  Once you have done this, take a moment to ponder what the music is telling you, and/or how it makes you feel.  I will upload a few of the pieces that I find healing and/or comfortinging when I am feeling out of sourts.  Feel free to use these pieces, or others that you enjoy, as these are just examples of music that is soothing and often times healing for me.  Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get the same result tas I explained above, because this process works differently for each individual person.  After trying to feel the music, please feel free to share your thoughts if you wish.

Happy listening,

Ann
