70 poems written over the career of Lynda McKinney Lambert.
She began her career as a published author in September 1990. When her poem, “Even in Arcadia,†appeared in The Daily Athenian, at West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV.
Because she was a Fine Arts Studio major, her poetry was inspired by her art history courses. From that time forward, her poetry and other writings are influenced by themes located in the art world.
At the time of her first poetry recognition, Lynda was a new student in the MFA program as a painter, at the university. This first publication gave her the confidence to continue to send out her poems and it was the beginning of a professional life in writing.
She wrote this first published poem as an undergraduate student working on the BFA Degree in Painting at Slippery Rock University of PA – in 1988.

The book is divided into 4 sections of poetry.
The opening poem is “Star Signs,†and this is the lead in to the book.
The theme comes from Genesis 1:14 when we have a description of God creating the universe and in particular the stars or “lights in the sky.†My book begins right here, at the beginning of all creation.
Each of the 4 sections is a theme that is located in a poem. That section has a quote from the opening poem of that specific section. These are quotes from the text – an they invite the reader to proceed on into the text that follows.
As with all of my writing there are some themes that are recurring: Passage of time; Elements of Nature; Landscape and Place; Life journey as a Pilgrimage to a destination, motifs from art, music, and dance; contrast between light and darkness.
The predominate motif from this scripture is the structure on which I created this group of 70 poems. Genesis 1:14

She uses images that are seen and unseen as she takes us on a year-long journey through the seasons.
All stories in this book were created after her sudden sight loss in 2007 from Ischemic Optic Neuropathy. Lambert invites us to see the world with new eyes. The book is a collection of memoirs through poetry and creative non-fiction essays. 16 poems, 28 essays.

Lynda has been honored by the American Printing House for the Blind for her award-winning mixed-media fiber and bead work which has received awards in this juried exhibition.
*****Her art work has appeared in over 300 exhibitions world-wide, since 1976.
Her art works have been juried into international exhibitions in Osaka, Japan; Papua, New Guinea, and she has exhibited in over 400 exhibitions world-wide over her career. She creates talismans and wall pieces in using medieval techniques.

Lynda is married to Charles R. (Bob) Lambert. The couple have 5 grown children. Bob and Lynda live in a century-old home in rural western Pennsylvania. Lynda works in her fiber studio and in her writing office daily. The couple have 2 rescued cats and 2 rescued dogs. They enjoy gardening and taking care of any feral cats that come for a meal or a safe place to hang out. The couple have 5 grown children – grand children and great-grandchildren. Bob and Lynda have been married for fifty-eight years.
