Chapter Four

Why the Men?

Throughout both the Old and New Testaments, God called and used men. We

have Joshua, Moses, Samuel, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Jonah, just to name a few.

We have phrases like “mighty men of valour,” “men of war,” and “gather all the

men.” We have the Levites and the Twelve Spies. There are numerous accounts

in the various books of the Bible where the function of men is recorded.

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ called twelve and one betrayed

Him. However, we find Paul, Timothy, Mark, and many more who did not

betray Him, as we examine the pages of Scripture.

I Corinthians 11:3—“But I would have you know, that the head of

every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the

head of Christ is God.”

Observation No. 1: The head of Christ is God, even though they are one.

John 17:22—“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them;

that they may be one, even as we are one.” John 10:30—“I and my

Father are one.”

Observation No. 2: The head of man is Christ.

Observation No. 3: The head of every woman or wife is the man. Gen.

2:24—“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall

cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

A husband who lives in obedience to the Word of God would be every

godly wife’s desire; however, there are those women whose husbands are not

God-fearing.

We have come to a place where we realize there are a lot of hurting

women, whether in the church or out of the church; emotional hurts have

no boundaries.

Surely we can find single parents everywhere, teenage sons on drugs,

men selling and using dope, sexual perversion, sexual immorality, and much

more. If left alone, we will soon have a headless society. If you can identify
