Hello everyone,
Today I have a fun writing exercise for you. This challenge was inspired b an event that is being held I the Write Around the Block Facebook group. Hope you enjoy it.
To hear the full story behind this exercise and the audio challenge itself, please listen to my latest podcast episode at the following link:
Now, without further ado, here’s your writing prompt for today:
Write a short Fantasy story, set on a boat. Any type of boat is fine; however, if you don’t want to have the story start on a boat, you can have it set on a lake or beach, as long as there’s a boat nearby. The second thing is that your characters must use either a bag of marbles or rocks, or some other object to resolve the conflict in your story. Seeing how the story has to be fantasy, you can use magic realism if you want to, or find some means for your protagonist or MC’s to defeat the enemy or resolve the conflict within your narrative.
The challenge that I participated in had a word count limit of up to 1500 words, but I’m not going to give you a specific word limit, because I want you to be able to have fun with your story. Let me know how your story turned out in the comments below. If you’d like to share your story with me, please do so by sending an email to annwrites75@gmail.com.
Until next time, I wish you many blessings, and happy writing! Also, happy Father’s Day to all the dads in the blogosphere.
Hugs,
Ann
