This afternoon, I sat out on my front porch, also known as my thinking spot. As I sat listening to my chimes and singing from my heart, I thought about the joy of sitting outside in creative solitude, thus the poem below was born.
Solitude,
The quiet of a mid-Spring/early summer afternoon
The chimes sing,
A melody rings
in my heart.
Though the air is filled with sound,
The gentle breeze surrounds me
With sweet,
Soul energizing peace
my creative juices flow
and I follow the words
As they take me where they long to go
From my heart,
Through my fingers
Onto the blank page
my creative dreams find sweet release
out into the world at large,
God sends them where they need to go.
