Amelia Griggs is a Learning Design and Development specialist, Instructional Designer, Writer and Authorpeneuer. She enjoys researching, designing and developing all kinds of educational materials, writing instructional articles, blogging, and composing fictional short stories. She has a technology book series called “Easy Learning Microsoft Office How-To Books”, as well as a children’s book series. She is currently working on more books, as well as educational and instructional videos. Amelia has always loved writing for as long as she could remember, including writing short stories, rhymes and poems. There’s even a historical fiction novel in her future. She has a Bachelors of Business Administration with a Major in Computer Science, and a Masters of Science in Instructional Design and Technology.

Amelia’s book is entitled:
Silly Willy Apple Cake

Description:
This book is the first book in the Bella and Mia Adventure Series. I love rhyming so I decided to use the play on words phrase “silly willy” to introduce the idea of fun activities using rhyming words. In the first book in the series, the story begins as Mia and her daughter Bella go apple picking at a farm. Bella loves to be silly. She laughs as she balances an apple on her arm, and asks ‘What can we make? What can we make?” Mama says “an apple cake”! So home they go, to mix and bake, and soon they are eating apple cake!
This children’s series is designed to foster love within families by promoting fun activities with parent and child. It also introduces rhyming to children. Rhyming helps children with memory and promotes learning. Reciting rhyming is also an excellent bonding activity for parents and children, or in a group setting with children. Each story is inspired by warm childhood memories of me watching my mother cook all kinds of scrumptious foods and the fun times we had in the kitchen.
The recipe is included in the back of the book.
There are 2 more books in this series, including “Squishy Wishy Meatballs”, and “Snowflakes With Sugar”. Coloring and activity books are also being created as companion activity books for the series.

Today for fun, we went to a farm, and I balanced an apple on my arm.
I filled ten baskets high to the sky. I jumped up and said, “Can we make a pie?”
“What else can we do, what else can we make?” Mama shouted out, an apple cake!
So off we went, Mama and me, with all the apples we picked from the tree.
