Hello everyone,
Today I’d like to keep you updated on my experience writing web content for a skydiving website. To be honest, this was different than anything I’ve ever done in the over six years I have worked as an author/writer. In the process of writing the content, I have learned a lot about skydiving, although I don’t see myself taking up the sport, for financial and personal reasons. With that being said, skydiving is a fascinating topic to write about.
First of all, writing content for a website is totally different tfrom writing articles and blog posts for yourself ora client. For one thing, the project has a very detailed outline with specific instructions, including word counts for each headline and block of text on the webpage. The best thing about writing web content is that they provide source links for you, to help you create your own content, and give accurate information. Although this cuts down on research, there was a bit of research that I had to do for the assigned city, and a bit about one of their packages, so I could provide the information needed, in a creative manner. Other than that, the specifics were laid out for me, to the letter!
Personally, there were some tedious parts of the content that needed to be written, but overall I had fun doing the project! I’m also applying for a few other writing jobs, so keep me in your prayers, and keep your fingers crossed that they accept this first project.
Love and prayers to all my friends in the blogosphere, and I’ll see you next time.
