Friday Book Share: Invasion Series

I haven’t read this series, but these authors along with their friend and colleague David Write, host a fabulous podcast called “storyStudio.” I recommend this podcast for writers and anyone who is interested in storytelling as a whole. They have good information, yet they are hilarious. I listen to them every Wednesday night, and have done so since this podcast started. Check it out on Apple Podcasts or whatever pod catcher you use.

The Power of Words

I find that words have power as well. I’ve loved creative writing, since I was a fourth grader.  When I was in either  the fifth or sixth grade, I won second place in a creative writing contest. I’ve dabbled in creative writing in high school, but the thing that made me want to be a writer was the introduction to New Stories of the South 2001, edited by Lee Smith. I won’t go into the details here, but I encourage you to read the book to see how she can inspire people to write their own stories.

Thanks, Kaz for such an inspiring post.

Why Do You Write?

via Why Do You Write?

There are several reasons why I write:

  1. It’s good therapy when I’m feeling down.
  2.  I have stories to tell that will hopefully touch the life of just one person.
  3.  I love using my imagination, and what better way to do so than through writing stories.
  4.  The music within me turns into my stories. The words are my instrument and the songs with me are my stories.

Why do you write?
